Upcoming Events
The year 2012 started out with volunteers from MMPC assisting with Ladle Fellowship at First Presbyterian Church, and the installation of Pastor Brad as our permanent pastor. The youth group attended a showing of "Hairspray", featuring one of our youth in the cast!
Our annual Congregational Meeting will be held after the worship service on Jan. 29.
Note that the Holy Ground service, which is usually on the first Sunday evening of each month, will be on the SECOND Sunday of the month in February.
The Women's Friendship group is starting off the new year with the following events:
- Housecleaning! We will be cleaning the narthex, kitchen, and assorted corners, followed by a hearty soup and salad lunch on Feb. 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Light luncheon, facials, jewelry sale, and scarf demonstrations on Mar. 24 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
See the events calendar below for information about more MMPC activities and date details!

Fellowship
Youth -
Youth Fellowship meets on Sunday evenings.
(Contact the church office for more information.) The group may begin with dinner and a game before
going on to activities for an hour of fun with Christian friends. Our youth leader schedules many
outside events such as retreats, beach parties, bowling, and Presbytery-wide teen activities.
- Feb 5 - No meeting
- Feb 12 - Youth meeting, 5:00 p.m.
- Feb 19 - Youth meeting, 5:00 p.m.
- Feb 26 - Youth meeting, 5:00 p.m.
Women -
In addition to a women's Bible study group, the women and friends of MMPC get together for craft workshops,
Prayers & Squares, and social events. Contact the church office for more information.
Men -
All men of the church are invited to the monthly Men's Breakfast. It's a great time for
fellowship and service. Watch the weekly bulletin for details. In addition, there are occasional
a men's retreats in the mountains.
Men’s Breakfast falls on the last Saturday of every month. We start cooking at 0730 and serve about 0800, and we usually meet at the church. Occasionally, we opt to meet at a local restaurant.
- The group is informal and fun. We share a simple meal and enjoy the camaraderie. It’s a good way to get to know other men in the church. It’s also a good time to catch up on what’s happening at MMPC.
- We also work on maintenance tasks when we can. Most jobs are small and easily completed. Sometimes much larger, but no one is forced to help.
- The same people usually do the cooking, and if you like to cook or help out in the kitchen, we welcome your interest. Some come to help, some to eat, but we all have a good time.
- All men, members, and friends are welcome. Come join us. The more the merrier!
Family & Friends -
During the year, there are church picnics, tailgates followed by Padres games, church dinners and family fun days. In addition, for those folks who can manage a day off once in awhile, there is a golf outing approximately once per month. Check the events calendar and the Sunday bulletin for information!

Music Groups
Music plays a major role in our worship service and fellowship with one
another at Mira Mesa Presbyterian Church. Our music groups include:
Chancel Choir -
The Chancel Choir welcomes anyone who loves to sing to join them on Thursday
evenings for practice and fellowship. They are a regular part of the
Sunday worship service. Members have included youths as young as those in
Junior/Senior High up through our beloved seniors. The repertoire is varied; it
ranges from the classics to gospel, from organ-accompanied to fully orchestrated.
The best part is: You don't have to be able to read music to join!
Celebration Bells -
For those of you who love music (and can count!), come join the
Celebration Bells! They typically practice on Monday evenings and perform during Sunday worship, once per month or so.
On occassion, its members perform duets and trios. They can teach you anything you need to know to ring the bells!
Ensemble -
For those of you who like to sing and/or play instruments and can't get to chancel choir rehearsals, or you
want to be involved in more music groups, we have ensemble groups that meet in an adhoc basis. We do our
music about once a month (more often in July) and you can pick and choose which piece(s) you want to do.
Contact Steve or the Worship Committee for more information.
There is also special music that is provided by
a number of soloists and other musicians from the church and community.
