We will consider together one of the few inevitables in life. No, not death or taxes. We also can’t escape CHANGE! As much as we might like the familiar and the predictable, as comfortable as we might be with the ways things have been, we need to come to terms and to come to faith with CHANGE. We worship a God Who is both always old and always new. The old, old story of Jesus and His love MUST put on “new clothes” when it enters a new culture and when it enters a new generation. The world is changing more rapidly than ever before, and the unchanging Gospel and the church must constantly “change clothes” to be understood. Human traditions treasured in the church must always give way to changes (and new traditions) that will better speak to and win the lost in our day. This is what fulfills the Great Commandant of love, and this is what Jesus contended with when confronting the religious traditionalists of His day.)
